At Dentocare, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding our patients from the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

1. Personal Data We Collect We collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Personal Identification: Name, Surname, Passport Number, Date of Birth.

  • Contact Details: Phone number, email address, home address.

  • Special Category Data (Health Data): Dental history, X-rays, diagnosis, treatment plans, medication usage, and general health information relevant to dental treatment (Art. 9 GDPR).

  • Pediatric Data: Information regarding minors (Dentocare Kids patients) is collected exclusively with the consent of the parent or legal guardian.

  • Travel Data: Flight and accommodation details (specifically for Health Tourism patients).

2. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing Your personal data is processed based on the following legal grounds under GDPR:

  • Contractual Necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): To provide dental treatment services, schedule appointments, and manage billing.

  • Medical Diagnosis & Health Care (Art. 9(2)(h)): Processing is necessary for the purposes of preventive or occupational medicine, medical diagnosis, the provision of health or social care or treatment.

  • Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): To comply with Turkish Ministry of Health regulations.

  • Vital Interests (Art. 6(1)(d)): In case of emergency medical situations.

3. International Data Transfers As Dentocare is located in Türkiye (outside the EU/EEA), your data is processed locally. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data in accordance with international standards. We do not transfer your data to third parties unless required by law or for necessary medical referrals (e.g., dental laboratories).

4. Data Retention We retain your health data for the period required by Turkish Health Regulations (typically 20 years for patient files) and financial data for 10 years as per tax laws. After these periods expire, your data is securely deleted or anonymized.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR As a data subject, you have the following rights:

  • Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Right to Rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Right to Erasure (‘Right to be Forgotten’): You can ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.

  • Right to Restriction of Processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data.

  • Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a structured, commonly used format (e.g., for transferring to another dentist).
