How are cavities that form between teeth while wearing braces during orthodontic treatment treated?

During orthodontic treatment, the presence of wires and brackets often leads to poor oral hygiene, resulting in cavities, particularly between teeth and around brackets. If a cavity is detected during treatment, immediate intervention is necessary; waiting for it to progress is not an option. Depending on the location of the cavity, the dentist may temporarily remove the wire or bracket from that area. After the wire and bracket obstruction is removed, the dentist performs a standard filling or root canal treatment procedure. Once the anatomical form of the treated tooth is restored, the removed bracket is reattached to the tooth with a new adhesive, and the orthodontic wire is reconnected, continuing the orthodontic treatment process.
