Is it normal to experience loosening or sensitivity in neighboring teeth after an impacted tooth extraction?

Impacted wisdom teeth, while attempting to erupt, typically exert significant mechanical pressure, either horizontally or at an angle, on the molars in front of them. After extraction, the sudden removal of this pressure, which had supported or pushed the adjacent tooth for years, can cause a temporary feeling of space, slight loosening, and sensitivity to hot and cold – a perfectly physiological and normal process. Furthermore, because the surgical procedure involves working very close to the bone tissue surrounding the adjacent tooth, it may take several weeks for the tissues in that area to recover. This sensitivity usually decreases and disappears within the first month; however, if the loosening is severe and does not decrease, a check-up with a dentist is necessary.
